// Our Story

Agencies don't do bad work. They just don't do it together.

Sean spent years inside the big agencies, on brands like Nestlé, Fox Sports, AirAsia and Uniqlo. The work was built to win awards, and success was measured in impressions and media value, not revenue.

Then he left to co-found Oblique with Jun, first as a branding agency. We set out to help passionate brands grow into the best version of themselves. But design and branding alone weren't enough to get them there. Beautiful decks sat unused, because nothing connected them to the work that brings a brand to life: the ads, the content and the site. The brand was never what was broken. It was the system around it.

Marketing is a system. Brand feeds social, social feeds performance and performance converts. When those pieces aren't run by one team from one brief, every channel competes instead of compounds. You pay for all of them and get the benefit of none.

Almost no agency is built to run it that way. Most invoice for one piece and leave you holding the coordination problem.

So we stopped being a branding agency. We rebuilt Oblique as the whole system: brand, social, performance, SEO and web, one team from one brief.

Brand informs social. Social informs ads. Ads inform what the site has to convert. We call it skill stacking: operators who hold multiple disciplines, so strategy and execution happen in the same room. Nothing works in isolation. The whole model was rebuilt around that.

Most agencies peak at the proposal. The deck is polished, the onboarding is smooth, and then three months in you're chasing someone for a report. Oblique optimises weekly. If it doesn't move the business, it doesn't count. We've never submitted for industry awards because we don't think that's the right measure of what we do.
