How Much Does GEO and AEO Cost in Malaysia?

GEO and AEO in Malaysia cost anything from a RM500 add-on to a RM30,000 monthly programme. The price gap comes down to four pieces of work, and most cheap packages only cover one of them.

GEO and AEO in Malaysia cost between RM500 and RM30,000 a month, and the spread is that wide because the same label covers very different work. At the bottom, published price lists add GEO to an SEO retainer for RM500 to RM1,500 a month. Standalone "AI SEO" packages start around RM3,500. A full programme that tracks and moves your brand's mentions inside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews runs RM10,000 to RM30,000, which is what we charge at Oblique.

The useful question is which of those bands matches the problem you have. We rank on page one for "how much does an aeo or geo agency charge in malaysia", and most buyers who reach us through that search are comparing prices for different jobs.

What does GEO cost in Malaysia right now?

Here are the four ways Malaysian businesses are buying it in 2026, from cheapest to most expensive.

How you buy it Typical monthly cost What you usually get
Do it yourself with a tracking tool From USD 165 (Semrush pricing) A dashboard of where AI engines mention you. Nobody to act on it
Add-on to an SEO retainer RM500 to RM1,500 on top of SEO Schema markup, FAQ blocks and some answer-style rewrites
Standalone "AI SEO" package From about RM3,500 Content plus technical work, with limited third-party or tracking work
Full GEO programme RM10,000 to RM30,000 Content, entity work, earned mentions and monthly citation tracking

The ranges above come from Malaysian agency price lists published in September 2026 and from our own GEO service rates. Most agencies here still quote privately, so treat the middle band as a floor rather than an average.

Cheap GEO packages leave out three of the four jobs

Two GEO quotes can differ by RM20,000 because GEO is four jobs, and the cheap packages only cover one of them.

Roughly 80% of the work is good SEO: pages an engine can crawl, direct answers under clear headings, real sources. The other 20% is where the cost sits. Entity consistency makes sure an engine resolves your business under one name across your site, your Google Business Profile and every marketplace. Earned mentions put you on third-party sites the engines trust, since they cross-check claims before they repeat them. Citation tracking shows whether any of it worked.

Most cheap packages leave out citation tracking, so you pay every month with no record of whether AI engines name you more often. Semrush's analysis of 126 million AI prompts found 62% of citations are ghost citations, where the engine uses a source's content and never names the brand. A package that reports "your page was used" is reporting the wrong thing. You want a screenshot of your name in the answer.

Which GEO budget fits your business?

Size any GEO budget against the traffic AI engines send today. Contentsquare found AI-referred traffic grew 632% year on year but still made up 0.2% of website visits. GEO buys position in a channel that is growing fast from a small base, so it rarely pays back inside one quarter.

That gives three sensible budgets. If your SEO is already healthy and you only want your answers formatted for AI engines, an add-on is enough, and you should ask the agency to show you the before-and-after pages. If you sell something considered, where buyers ask ChatGPT for a shortlist before they call anyone, a full programme is the right size and you should fund it for 6 to 9 months. If you need leads this month, spend the money on performance marketing instead and come back to GEO later.

Before paying anyone, run your own buyer questions through ChatGPT and Perplexity and note who gets named instead of you. Our free AI visibility checker does the first pass in a few minutes.

Oblique charges RM10,000 to RM30,000 a month for GEO

Our GEO engagements run RM10,000 to RM30,000 a month, set by how competitive your category is and how much content it needs. Most clients run it bundled with SEO, because the same content feeds both and paying twice for the overlapping 80% makes no sense.

Every engagement starts with a written audit of which buyer questions name a competitor instead of you. Monthly reporting counts named mentions by engine and query. We explain the method and our own proof in why Oblique is one of the best GEO agencies in Malaysia.

Frequently asked questions

Is GEO more expensive than SEO?

It sits on top of SEO rather than replacing it, so the honest comparison is SEO alone against SEO plus GEO. In Malaysia a properly resourced SEO retainer runs RM5,000 to RM12,000 a month, as we set out in our agency cost guide. A full GEO programme adds the entity, earned-mention and tracking work on top.

How much does enterprise GEO consulting cost in Malaysia?

Expect the top of the range and above it. Brands running several markets, several languages or a large product catalogue need more queries tracked and more third-party work, which pushes engagements past RM30,000 a month. Ask for a scope that lists the queries and engines being tracked before you compare numbers.

Can I do GEO myself?

You can do the first 80% yourself if you already write good pages. Our guide on getting cited by ChatGPT covers the steps. The earned-mention work and the monthly tracking are where in-house teams usually run out of time.

When will GEO start to show results?

Question-shaped queries can move within 60 to 90 days, because engines assemble those answers fresh. Category-level mentions take six to twelve months as third-party signals build up. Anyone promising AI citations in 30 days is selling something else. For the difference between the two disciplines, read SEO vs GEO for Malaysian brands.
